TAKE ACTION ON CLIMATE : URGE BIDEN TO DECLARE A CLIMATE EMERGENCY NOW

We are way overdue for meaningful action on Climate. If President Biden were to declare a climate emergency this would allow the executive branch to take action on a range of climate issues – including declaring a moratorium on offshore oil drilling, halting forest destruction, and so much more – including diverting money from the military budget. A declaration of climate emergency would ensure both immediate and long-term action.

The links below allow you to express your support for a presidential declaration of climate emergency :

send a message to the President

call the White House

contact your Senators

urge your Representative to demand a climate emergency declaration

use social media to contact your elected officials

CLIMATE AWAKE

Climate Awake is a Yoga-in-Action Challenge that is housed on the Yoga International platform. It is designed as a 5 week challenge but is self-paced and you can do it much sooner, or take longer. Each week is a conversation on a specific aspect of climate change, a yoga sequence and a meditation, as well as more resources to explore around that aspect. In addition to myself, guest teachers include Michelle Cassandra Johnson, Chelsey Korus, Shiva Rea and Hawah Kasat.

“If being appropriate means conforming to a deeply pathological society, be wildly inappropriate. If finally seeing the oppressive suffering of others is painful, endure the pain. If you want freedom from guilt and denial, surrender to the truth. Don’t observe the revolution. Be the revolution.” ~ Jaiya John

The INTERSECTION OF YOGA & CLIMATE JUSTICE
